Budding Kalam Science Club

“Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow.
The important thing is to not stop questioning.”

Science is basically a systematic knowledge of everything around us. The basic purpose of science is to help people understand this world and their surroundings.

As every sphere of life has been revolutionized by science and we all know that we can learn and remember things better if we do it and practice rather than just study/read them. This basic principle is involved in the formation of organization called “Science Club” meant for ‘learning by doing’. It is a place where a whole lot of critical, analytical, technical and scientific dialogue takes place. Various experiments are conducted by the enthusiastic members of the club. Theories are practiced and the quest to know the unknown is quenched. Some of the events of the club are models making ,charts as per C.B.S.E syllabus, Science Quiz etc.

Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, is an Indian scientist and administrator who served as the 11th President of India from 2002 to 2007. Kalam is popularly known as the Missile Man of India for his work on the development of ballistic missile and launch vehicles technology. Kalam continues to take an active interest in other developments in the field of science and technology. Springdales Science Club owes its name to Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam keeping in mind his contribution to the field of science & technology.

Science Club aims at-

⇒ Building a scientific temperament, increase thinking and the spirit of enquiry and generating a love for science among the students.

⇒ Popularizing science in an age of science and technology and help to bring it’s advancements to the door steps of the students through hands on activities.

⇒ Bridging the gap between formal education and a more comprehensive knowledge of science, endeavouring to make the study of science more interesting.

⇒ Allowing the students to work on their own ideas, hobbies, experiments that help students to learn more through these activities and their own experiments and clarify general scientific concepts.

⇒ Channelizing the energies of students and make use of their skills and talents, which satisfy their instincts and urges and helps in their overall personality development.

So science club is an organization, which helps in the development of scientific attitude, and develop genuine interest in science and scientific activities, supplements the work of the classroom and the laboratory and parts the syllabus on a practical bias”.
